Siddharthanagar

Siddharthanagar is a town and municipality and seat of Rupandehi District in the Lumbini Zone of southern Nepal, located near the southwestern border with India. Siddharthanagar, with its old name of Bhairahawa, is the second largest town in the Rupandehi district, located about 265 km west of Kathmandu. As it is the gateway city to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, people are accustomed to foreigners and many speak English. As the city is located near the border with India, it plays an important role in the import and export business, so Bhairahawa is also called the trade centre of Terai
